Flag Memorial - Rosario

The most amazing historic building in my town is “The Flag Memorial”. It is near the Parana river bank. It was designed by Angel Guido, Alejandro Bustillo and some other important architects. Construction began in 1943 but the monument was completed fourteen years later.
It is the only monument to the flag in the world. It resembles a ship. It is divided in three main areas: a central tower overlooks the city and the Parana river, the Propileo, where the torch –La llama eterna- remembers dead soldiers, and finally the Flags’ Museum where flags from Latin American Countries are displayed.
National Holidays are celebrated here. There are military parades, traditional dances, concerts and festivals. All the important events that take place in Rosario are held at the Flag Memorial.
Its steps are the forever witnesses of the history of the city. If you want to get to the tower you can do it at weekends from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 13 p.m. .
